This month, we are marching back toward ourselves.
We’re taking back control in the places where we’ve lost it,
handed it over, or simply drifted away from our own
intentions.
If we want to live a life of freedom, we first have to take
inventory of where we feel stuck, restricted, or in bondage.
Today, I want us to take an honest, nonjudgmental look at
reclaiming agency in our bodies.
We have a choice in how we nourish, rest, move, and
respond.
And our bodies are always communicating.
They know what they need to flourish, and they give us
constant feedback about what’s supporting us and what’s
slowly wearing us down.
Our bodies tell the truth long before our minds do.
What does that mean?
If we wake up tired, achy, foggy, or sore, our bodies may
be signaling that something is off, maybe we’re eating
foods that don’t agree with us, moving too much or too
little, or ignoring a need we’ve been postponing.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said things like,
“I can’t commit to an exercise routine,” or
“I can’t say no to wine and cheese.”
But pause with those statements for a moment.
When I say I can’t, I’m declaring that I’ve surrendered my
agency in that area. I’m handing over my power before I
even give myself a chance.
Last year, I worked intentionally to take back control over
how I wanted to eat and how I wanted to move my body. It
didn’t start with a grand overhaul it began with small,
doable habits:
• Drinking one glass of water first thing in the
morning
• Not buying certain foods at the grocery store
• Increasing protein
• Going to the gym twice a week
• Walking on the treadmill once a day
Then, once those habits felt steady, I added more:
• Eliminating sugar
• Increasing my baseline for daily steps
• Setting a time minimum for movement each day
The point is… I reclaimed agency in these areas. Not
perfectly, not all at once, but steadily and intentionally.
And now, I invite you to do the same.
Take inventory not from a place of judgment, but from a
place of awareness.
Where have you given away your agency when it comes to
your physical well‑being? Where have you been living on autopilot?
And what is one small step you can take today to begin
reclaiming control?
March is our month to return to ourselves body, mind,
and spirit. Let’s walk it together.
