I wonder… When was the last time you played?
When was the last time you built a snowman, slid down a
long winding hill and laughed the entire way down?
When did you last pick up an instrument, sing karaoke, or
let yourself pretend?
Wonder thrives in play.
Self‑love doesn’t have to be solemn. It can be silly,
spontaneous, and joyfully imperfect.
Let yourself wonder.
Let yourself be in awe.
Let yourself simply enjoy playing.
If you have kids or grandkids, grab them for the afternoon.
Skip the to‑do list, silence the electronics, and just play.
Watch how they create entire worlds out of thin air. Let
yourself be pulled into their imagination.
No kids around? Borrow one for the afternoon and watch a
master of wonder at work. Children don’t need to be taught
how to dream, create, or explore. We were designed for it.
We just lose touch with it as we grow up and start believing
we need to do instead of be.
We forget to play.
We call it irresponsible or a waste of time.
But it isn’t.
It’s rewiring our brains and soothing our nervous systems.
I wonder what life would look like for us if we played more,
if we let delight be part of our healing, our joy, and our
self‑love.
Maybe it’s time to find out.
